Commercial Pilot

What is a Commercial Pilot?

With a minimum of 250 flight hours a pilot can obtain their  commercial pilot certification. This allows them to be able to be paid  and compensated as a pilot.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold a Private Pilot Certificate
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have at least a second-class medical certificate
  • Have 250 hours of flight experience.
  • Have 10 hours of flight on a complex airplane or TAA
  • Meet the minimum requirements of pilot time in command (PIC)
  • Pass the written FAA exam
  • Pass practical oral and flight exams.

How long is the process?

Getting your commercial pilot certificate is an easier process but still a challenging one since now your skills as a pilot are a little more advanced than before. The typical time spent for this certificate is about a month or two to be completed.
